Evaluation of self-etching primer on bond strength in feldspathic ceramic

The aim of the study was to evaluate effect self-etching silane primer on long-term bonding strength feldspathic ceramic. Ceramic blocks (IPS Empress CAD, Ivoclar Vivadent) were cut with a low-speed diamond disk (Isomet 1000, Buehler) into 40 12x7x6mm, under water cooling, and randomly divided two groups (n=20), according surface conditioning: hydrofluoric acid (HF) (Condac, FGM) or (MEP) (Monobond Etch Prime, Vivadent). After bonded composite resin (12 x 7 3mm) (Liss, light cured cement (Variolink Esthetic LC, LED photoactivation (Radii Cal, SDI) for s each luting interface line. sets in sticks 1-mm2 cross-section composed ceramic/cement/composite tested after 24h (baseline) 90 days aging by stored distilled at 37ºC. No significant different mTBS observed between HF MEP (p>0.05). Storage time samples did not affect from groups. Surface etching produced higher alterations than primer. Application may be considered an alternative silanization
